CCF began
from a need for information sharing, personal connection, and support during the exposure of an abuse crisis within a church community often called “The Truth” or “2x2s” in March 2023. Spurred by the sudden outpouring of stories about abuse and cover-ups, a Google Group was formed. Within days the group exceeded its capacity and and on June 4th, 2023, Connected and Concerned Friends was launched using Mighty Networks software. This format accommodated an increasing amount of content and growing membership while providing the safety and respect that is sometimes lacking on public social media.
CCF is especially committed in four distinct areas:
ADVOCACY
All manner of supportive activities for survivors whether past, present, or future.
COMMUNITY
Fostering fellowship and solidarity; nurturing relational bonds built on common hopes and beliefs.
SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT
The furtherance of understanding, growing in grace for the edification, education, and broadening of mind and heart.
NEWS AND INFORMATION
Updates on developments relevant to the community, sourced and vetted with integrity and respect.
CCF is now a registered 501c3 non-profit organization serving over 5,000 members. The organization is deepening its commitment to bringing information, support, and community to as many individuals as possible by adding this webpage as the public companion of the log-in ONLINE COMMUNITY. CCF will continue to broaden its impact by diversifying content and partnering with relevant thought leaders and professionals from a variety of backgrounds. CCF is devoted to empowering people to have agency over their spiritual and personal lives and to live in community with one another.
