Code of Conduct

We understand that some of the topics that we are discussing as a community are hard, vulnerable, distressing and frustrating. Sometimes the line between sharing feelings and disrespectful behavior can be fine, so we ask for your help upholding the below goals for our community.

MEMBER BENEFITS:

  • All Members must use their real First and Last Name.
  • All Members must upload a current, head shot profile picture.

CONDUCT:

  • Respectful and Civil discussion.
  • Introspection and openness to other’s feelings.
  • Courteous toward others (Refrain from excessive commenting or posting).
  • Curiosity toward other points of view.
  • Vulnerability and Honesty.
  • Respect for other member’s information. (Please ask permission before sharing another member’s comments/posts outside of CCF.)

REFRAIN FROM:

  • Threats, violent language, or vulgarity. (Instead: explain yourself)
  • Blanket statements. (Instead: be specific)
  • Assumption of intent. (Instead: ask questions)
  • Name calling or labeling individuals, i.e. monster, idiot, psychopath, narcissist. (Instead: describe their behavior)
  • Stealing member information. (profile pictures/comments/personal information.)
  • Solicitation for services and/or products.
  • Political comments.
  • Sending violent or abusive messages to other members via Direct Message.

INCLUDE:

  • Trigger warnings, when appropriate.
  • Sources for published information and statistics.
  • Links for useful information (in lieu of copy and pasting information).

Any individual who is a perpetrator or threat to the physical safety of our community will be expelled immediately upon the team’s knowledge.

We are working hard to ensure that our community is a safe space where members feel welcome to share their thoughts and feelings without fear of being intimidated or shamed for holding those views. Our team maintains the right to discern if a comment or post falls within the guidelines of a civil conversation. We ask for everyone’s help guiding our community conversations in a respectful and productive manner. Thank you for every effort toward this end.
